Long-term users of SAP SuccessFactors and Employee Central Payroll are well-versed with the bi-annual updates and releases. But what is different this year with the new innovations and functionality, is the significant new value for users through the inclusion of AI.

So, whilst the changes may not be directly visible to the human eye, the new AI technologies are bringing increased accuracy, greater predictability, improved efficiency, accelerated decision-making and much, much more.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
- Enhanced Employee Central alerts – Flexibility to include additional employee specific information in alerts, such as work
permit type, document number, and exact expiry date - Workforce composition insights (People Intelligence) – Get a clear view of workforce structure and dynamics to inform strategic decisions and support more effective planning.
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll
- AI-enabled explain pay capability extended to Germany and Mexico – This builds upon the launch of the functionality for the USA, UK and Australia in 1H 2025
- Ad-hoc, off cycle application in the enhanced payroll control center – Allows payroll processing for non-routine
adjustments (e.g., Bonuses, corrections, etc.) outside the standard cycles
Enterprise Service Management
- AI-assisted case creation and management in Joule – With Joule, employees can create, manage, and track cases through a conversational interface. NLP eliminates retyping, captures accurate details, and speeds up resolution for a seamless HR service experience.
- Intelligent case recommendations – HR reps can prioritize cases, auto-create subcases, connect with experts, route issues to the right teams, and use recommended email templates for faster, consistent resolutions.
- Pre-configured HR service scenarios – Accelerate HR scenario implementation and deployment with pre-delivered templates that can be tailored to meet unique business needs. In 2H 2025, templates for leave and grievance scenarios will be introduced, with additional scenarios planned in subsequent releases.

For early adopters from January 2026, this new solution will enable shift planners and supervisors in manufacturing and production to create smarter schedules aligned with real-time business demand and required skills, reducing administrative burden, helping to prevent costly overstaffing and understaffing, and maintaining compliance.
Features include:
- Demand-driven workforce planning – Support weekly and monthly shift plans that account for operational needs and
employee skills, enabling better alignment of labour supply with business demand - Optimised scheduling and visibility – Minimise downtime and increase productivity with clear insights into workforce availability and improved scheduling efficiency

The two solutions to look out for in the new year are:
- SmartRecruiters for SAP SuccessFactors – SmartRecruiters’ hiring solution including, job distribution, candidate relationship management, and applicant tracking system (equivalent to, and replacement for SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting)
- SmartRecruiters Winston for SAP SuccessFactors – Incremental AI capabilities that can be used with SmartRecruiters as well as SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting (replacement for 3rd party solutions)
